Vaishno Devi by bus from Delhi: a weekend plan

Leave Friday night, take darshan on Saturday and be home by Monday morning. How the weekend package works, hour by hour.

The Vaishno Devi weekend is the trip our organizers run most often from Delhi. It fits between two working days, and you do not have to plan trains, hotels or the walk yourself.

Friday: board after work

Buses usually leave Kashmere Gate or Karol Bagh between 8 and 10 PM, with a second pickup on the highway at Panipat or Karnal. Your ticket on Brujo shows the pickup point, the reporting time and your seat number. Reach fifteen minutes early so the crew can check you in from the boarding list.

Saturday: Katra and the climb

You reach Katra early in the morning, freshen up at the hotel and collect your yatra slip. The walk to the Bhawan is about 13 km. Most groups start by 9 AM, take darshan in the evening and come down by night. Battery cars and ponies are available if you need them.

Sunday: rest and the ride home

After a late breakfast the bus leaves Katra around noon. Some trips stop at Kurukshetra or at a dhaba on the way. You are back in Delhi early on Monday morning.

Before you book

  • Check what the price includes: hotel, meals and the yatra slip are not always in it.
  • Look at the organizer's rating and the reviews from past trips.
  • Choose your seat on the seat map. Families can sit together if they book early.
